We do things differently here.

A compassionate, integrative approach to pelvic floor physical therapy.

The typical model for pelvic floor physical therapy is a profit-driven, “quick-cure” model that often reduces patients to their medical chart or current diagnosis. There’s no place for complex chronic conditions. We believe we can do so much better.

The standard, one-dimensional approach to pelvic floor physical therapy leads to so many patients falling through the cracks.

Like the high-achieving executive who requires comprehensive, consistent pelvic floor PT to keep her chronic pain and endometriosis in check, who passed from provider to provider because her condition did not have an “expiration date.”

Or the man who lives with chronic bowel issues, improved only by having regular pelvic floor physical therapy that takes an integrative, whole-body approach.

Or the young woman who had developed severe dyspareunia from past trauma. Her insurance covered six weeks of pelvic floor physical therapy. Her symptoms have improved dramatically—thanks to five years of dedicated, consistent pelvic floor physical therapy.

Treating the whole person,

not just the pelvis.

Our team

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist

Dr. Rebekah Slafka, PT, DPT, PRPC

I’m passionate about all things pelvic floor—and providing care that helps patients feel seen, heard, loved, and empowered.

I have been working in this specialty since 2018, with expertise in helping patients—women, men and those within the LGBTQIA+ population—with diverse diagnoses. I am one of the few physical therapists in Ohio to earn a PRPC accreditation from the international Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and I’m also a certified Endometriosis Physical Therapist on iCareBetter.

I am manually trained and believe in taking a biopsychosocial approach to care. My specialties include cupping, integrative dry needling, muscle energy techniques, visceral mobilizations, myofascial release, and more.

Beyond my skillset, I’ve also experienced living with pelvic floor dysfunction and chronic pain. I know firsthand how much pelvic floor dysfunction can affect your life—and how hard it can be to find a provider who understands and advocates for you. My goal is to be both your provider and your partner in achieving sustainable, functional wellness.

When I’m not doing all-things-pelvic-floor, you’ll find me fixing up our Lebanon farmhouse and spending time with my husband and two daughters.

ADMIN & SCHEDULING

Sarah Fisher

When you contact Restore, I’m the person on the other end of the phone and computer! Though I'm not a physical therapist, I am also passionate about pelvic floor physical therapy. I've experienced living with chronic pain and personally experienced the difference a good pelvic floor PT can make. (Let me tell you, Rebekah is the best!)

Before working with Restore, I worked in the field of pregnancy care as well as helping those in domestic violence or sexual assault situations, through legal advocacy and working in a shelter. During COVID, I focused my efforts towards developing my pregnancy center's social media and loved it! I'm thrilled to be able to work alongside Rebekah in this way.

When I'm not working, you can find me spending time (usually outside!) with my husband and two kids.

I look forward to talking with you soon!

FAQs

  • Your pelvic floor muscles help stabilize your pelvis and spine; support the uterus, bladder, prostate, and rectum; assist with sexual function; and maintain bowel and bladder control. By working with a physical therapist who specializes in the pelvic floor, you can directly target any tightness, weakness, or tension caused by injury, trauma, or chronic illness that is inhibiting your functional well-being.

  • We treat everyone, no matter your gender or sexuality.

  • Nope! One of the main reasons we founded Restore is to eliminate barriers to receiving treatment. You can book an evaluation or appointment today here.

  • At your first appointment—and any appointment after that!—our goal is to make you feel seen, heard, loved, and empowered. We will only proceed with treatment options (including internal manual therapy!) with your consent, at your comfort level and speed.

  • Integrative dry needling the use of acupuncture needles into a muscle to help it feel better. It is a gentle approach designed to support the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems of the body. It is best accompanied by a movement and strengthening practice, which is not something we facilitate at Restore with our dry needling-only patients.

  • We are experts in all the traditional pelvic floor physical therapy modalities—cupping, manual therapy, integrative dry needling, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, visceral mobilizations. But we also bring a whole-body approach to treatment, like understanding the gut-brain connection, the emotional function of the pelvic floor, trauma-informed medicine, and more.

As providers, we also understand on a personal level what it’s like to manage chronic pain and difficult diagnoses, balancing hope with realism. We’re here to help more than just your pelvic floor. We want to improve your entire well-being.

  • We are out-of-network with insurance providers. This allows us to offer you thorough, customized treatment options for as long as you need. Insurance often operates in a way to maximize profit, only covering a small portion of treatments for a limited time. We believe you deserve care that provides the treatments you need for sustained, functional well-being—no matter how long that takes.

We’re so glad you’re here.
